Image Of God

We Are Messengers opens with something closer to a modern symptom than a testimony — scrolling a phone at 2am, 'seven billion voices' competing for an answer none of them can actually give. The chorus answers that specific noise with a specific claim: 'made in the image of God' pulls straight from Genesis 1:27, offered as an identity that doesn't depend on any of the seven billion other voices agreeing.

'There's no first in line at the foot of the cross' flattens every hierarchy those voices might construct — status, comparison, who's furthest ahead — into Galatians 3:28's claim that everyone stands equal there. 'Father, forgive me, show my concrete heart' is a small, honest admission inside a song mostly aimed outward at a shared human dignity; the singer doesn't exempt themselves from needing the same grace being offered to everyone else. 'We're so much more than flesh and blood' closes the song by refusing to let 'image of God' stay an abstract compliment — it's treated as a fact that should change how a person is actually seen.
