Heal Our Land

Akesse Brempong's “Heal Our Land” is a prayer for a nation from a Ghanaian gospel singer. The first lines repeat the request: heal our land, we pray, we are crying out today, Spirit have your way and move in this place. A comparison follows, saying that like a ship without a sail, everyone has gone astray.

The prayer addresses the Father and names the people as his children who are calling out, then asks the merciful Lord for mercy. The central section quotes God's promise: if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, then he will hear, heal them and heal their land. The closing lines repeat the plea in Twi, asking for healing today and saying that the people pray.
