Alê! Alê!
Song Meaning
Aline Barros builds this one entirely out of Old Testament victory scenes, moving through three different figures in three verses rather than staying with one image — 'vou dançar que nem Davi depois de guerrear' ('I will dance like David after battling') pictures 2 Samuel 6:14's account of David dancing before the Lord, not as a private celebration but as public praise after real conflict.
The second verse turns to 'vou vencer que nem Moisés atravessando o mar' ('I will win like Moses crossing the sea'), and the third to Joshua at Jericho — 'vou lutar com Josué, a muralha caíra' ('I will fight with Joshua, the wall will fall'), echoing Joshua 6:20's account of the wall collapsing after the people's shout. The repeated refrain, 'quem é de Deus só tem vitória pra contar' ('whoever belongs to God only has victory to tell'), ties all three stories to the same claim — not that difficulty is avoided, but that whatever's fought through ends in something worth recounting, the same pattern each time regardless of which biblical figure is doing the fighting.
