Corra Para Os Braços Do Pai (If This World)

A diagnosis and a direction open this Portuguese song: "Esse mundo não tem mais direção" ("this world has lost its direction"), and the answer is "corra para os braços do Pai" ("run to the Father's arms"). The image of running home recalls the father in Luke 15:20 who runs to meet his returning son. The chorus adds "deixe Cristo te guiar, Ele sim te completará."

The verses speak directly to someone worn down. They list "tantas desilusões," "decepções," loneliness and being "sem rumo pra caminhar," then ask the listener not to stay so sad, "pois eu sei que há um Rei que te quer demais." The offer includes love and peace felt "no seu interior," much like the rest promised in Matthew 11:28.

The bridge gives three instructions: "ponha tua fé em Jesus," "pegue nas mãos do Senhor" and "caminhe sempre com proteção," the last close to Isaiah 41:13's promise to hold your hand. The final appeal is to "entregue agora o coração ao Rei Jesus, o Salvador," with a list of what follows, blessing, inheriting promises and living happily, before the chorus comes back. The stored lyric shows garbled accents, which have been left alone.
