Criança De Jesus

Aline Barros writes this one to be sung while actually moving, not just listened to — "criança de Jesus tem energia pra gastar, corre pra cá, corre pra lá" ("a child of Jesus has energy to burn, runs here, runs there"). The song assumes its listeners are already jumping around and just gives them something to do while they're at it.

The repeated line running underneath all the instructions to clap, jump, and spin is the actual point: "ter Jesus é muito bom" ("having Jesus is very good"). Every physical direction in the song attaches back to that one simple claim rather than standing alone as just an exercise routine.

Jesus' own welcome of children — "let the little children come to me" — sits behind a song built entirely around kids being loud, energetic, and unselfconscious in worship rather than quiet and formal. The psalmist's call to "make a joyful noise" and "serve the Lord with gladness" gets a fairly literal interpretation here: gladness that actually looks like running in circles until someone admits they're tired.
