Fearless
Song Meaning
"Fearless" starts with a question the singer asks before praying anything: "Do I listen to your voice Lord or go my own way," or will there be "more excuses today"? The verse resolves into a decision to hand over "my life" so that God will use it.
The chorus is the request itself: "Use me and through me your name will be blessed," paired with a vow to give "my best" and a refusal to hide. The second verse widens it into witness. "I want to show the world who you are," following His footsteps "no matter how far," and calling that "the prayer of my heart."
The last turn shifts from asking to declaring: "I am unafraid / I am unashamed / Fearless I've been made." Boldness here is received rather than manufactured, which fits Isaiah 6:8 ("Here am I, send me"), Romans 1:16 on not being ashamed of the gospel, and 2 Timothy 1:7 on a spirit of power instead of fear. The chorus then repeats twice to close.
Been thinking bout the choices I make
Do I listen to your voice Lord or go my own way
Will have more excuses today
or will I give you my life so you'll
[Chorus:]
Use me and through me your name will be blessed
I want to give it and live it
For you and nothing less
Don't wanna hide I've decided to give you my best
Make me fearless
I want to show the world who you are
Following your footsteps no matter how far
This is the prayer of my heart
So now I give you my life so you'll
[Chorus]
I am unafraid
I am unashamed
Fearless I've been made
I'll never be the same
[Chorus 2X]
