No Condemnation
Song Meaning
Romans 8:1 is the whole of the chorus: "there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, by His blood I have been made free," repeated until the singer adds "I have been redeemed." Anthony Evans follows with the personal result, "because of His forgiveness I don't have to live with shame anymore, because of His redemption, no more condemnation."
A spoken section explains why the message matters. "One of the many ways that the enemy will paralyze and disable and disarm the people of God is to put a burden of guilt and shame on them," he says, a thought near 1 Peter 5:8 about the adversary prowling. But "the weight of our sin is no longer ours to bear, our Savior took it all, He paid the full price on Calvary," which matches Colossians 2:14.
He then reads the verse itself, "there is therefore now no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ Jesus, so be free, my friend." The song ends with lines from the end of Romans 8: "Christ who died, raised to life, made a way for me, there's no depth, there's no height that can separate me from His love," drawn from Romans 8:38-39.
There is no
Condemnation
For those
In Christ Jesus
By His blood
I have been made free
There is no
Condemnation
For those
In Christ Jesus
By His blood
I have been redeemed
[x2]
Because of His forgiveness
I don't have to live with
Shame anymore
Because of His Redemption
No more condemnation
There's no more
[x3]
There's no more...
There's no more guilt
There's no more shame
There's no more
One of the many ways
That the enemy will paralyze
And disable and disarm the people of God
Is to put a burden of guilt and shame on them
But the weight of our sin is no longer ours to bear
Our savior took it all
He paid the full price on calvary
And the enemy knows that if you ever really grab a hold of that truth
You'll really be victorious
And here's the truth
There is therefore now no condemnation
For those of us who are in Christ Jesus
So be free my friend
Be free!
Christ who died
Raised to life
Made a way for me
There's no depth
There's no height
That can separate me
[x5]
From his love...
There is no
Condemnation
For those
In Christ Jesus
By His blood
I have been made free
There is no
Condemnation
For those
In Christ Jesus
By His blood
I have been redeemed
