Good Good Father Reggae Version

Christafari carries Chris Tomlin's “Good Good Father” into reggae without moving its center: God's character, not other people's opinions, defines who he is. The first verse sets “a thousand stories of what they think you're like” against “the tenderest whispers of love in the dead of the night,” and the chorus repeats “It's who you are” before turning the same phrase on the singer, “It's who I am.”

The second verse widens the lens to people “searching for answers far and so wide” who find what they need only in God, who knows it “before we say a word.” The bridge simply repeats “You are perfect in all of your ways,” and the third verse runs out of words altogether: “I can hardly speak,” then “Deeper still into love.”

Matthew 7:11 supplies the title's logic, that a human father who gives good gifts points to a heavenly Father who gives better, while 1 John 3:1 matches the identity half of the chorus: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.”
