Holy Holy Holy/ We Say Yes

Crossroads Music pairs Reginald Heber's nineteenth-century hymn "Holy, Holy, Holy" with an original response chorus, letting two centuries of the same text sit directly beside a contemporary answer to it. The hymn itself stays untouched — "holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty... God in three persons, blessed Trinity" — its Trinitarian language as doctrinally precise now as when it was written.

"Though the darkness hide Thee, though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see, only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee" keeps the hymn's original tension intact — God's holiness is affirmed even where it can't be directly perceived, not only where it's obviously visible.

The added "We Say Yes" chorus — "our lives open wide, our hands lifted high, we say yes to your freedom" — answers that centuries-old declaration of holiness with a present-tense response, treating the old hymn's theology as something that still requires an answer today, not only historical praise to be recited.
