Collision

Disciple's "Collision" builds its whole arc around the moment of impact — the point where a person stops resisting and runs straight into the presence of God. The opening verse sets up a tension between opposites: calm before rage, love overpowering hate, hands sweating as they grip something already slipping away. There's an admission that it's "far too late to stop this slide," and rather than fight it, the singer asks to be stripped down: "Strip this away if it's what it takes / I'm ready to break." That willingness to be undone is the hinge of the song. The chorus turns that surrender into motion — leaning forward, bracing for collision, running faster to chase the very thing that will shatter him. The second verse deepens the imagery of ruin: shattered pieces in his eyes, comfort gone, wings that no longer fly, a dive that can't be pulled out of. The bridge repeats a refusal to flee — "I'm not running away" — before clarifying that the running is toward God, not from Him. The cited passages (Moses meeting God face to face, Isaiah undone before the throne, Saul blinded on the Damascus road) all describe encounters that leave a person wrecked and remade. The song treats that wreckage as the goal, not the tragedy.
