Snooze

Disciple builds “Snooze” around remembered encounters and the shame of failing to remain alert. A voice recalls coming near, calling a name, and waiting, only to find the other person asleep. The title sounds playful until the surrounding scenes introduce a raging crowd and costly love; wakefulness becomes a question of loyalty when attention and courage are needed.

The repeated admission that someone waited but “you snoozed” keeps returning after each memory. Yet the song does not end by discarding the sleeper. Gratitude enters the final section, where the singer remembers being taught how to treat people others overlook. Failure is exposed so that love can produce a different response.

Matthew 26:40 records Jesus finding his disciples asleep when he asked them to watch with him. Luke 22:61 captures the painful moment when Peter remembers Jesus’ words after denying him, and John 15:13 defines the greatest love as laying down one’s life for friends.
