I Will Sing

Doubt is the starting point: "When I wander in my doubt, I'm held within Your mystery." From there the song settles quickly into declaration. Each chorus line names Christ, "the risen Son of God," "the light that breaks the dark," "the Savior of my soul," "the name above it all," and answers with the same vow, "Forever I will sing."

Elevation Worship gives the second verse to the cross, "the Father's heart revealed to me," described as "unrelenting, never changing, all consuming," and ending in freedom. The bridge turns testimony into confession: "I am not ashamed of the cross that made a way," with Jesus as "the only name that saves." The chorus that follows reads less like a refrain than the congregation's response.

Scripture lines up closely with the language: Paul's refusal to be ashamed of the gospel, Peter's claim that no other name saves, the name given above every name, and Jesus as the light of the world.
