SO BE IT

A king's decree sets the terms from the first verse: "When the King speaks a word / it cannot be overturned," and "when Heaven touches earth / it can never be reversed." Elevation Worship uses that certainty to wave off opposition ("get the liars out the way / they don't have the final say") before landing on the refrain, "The Lamb of God has overcome / my testimony is His blood." The title phrase "So be it God" is spoken as agreement with what God has already declared, not as a request.

The middle of the song is a spoken-sung walk through the cross. "From a throne to a cross / who would pay such a price," it asks, pointing to the nails, the wounds, and "the crown meant to mock / that instead prophesied." A chant of "He's alive" follows, then a list of finality: "It is final / it is written / it is settled / it is finished," paired with "See that old grave / He was in it / now He isn't."

Authority and victory also reach the singer. "The weapons of the enemy / they have no power over me," runs one line, since the One "with all authority covers me." The song ends looking forward, with Christ returning "like a thief in the night" for His bride and the cry "Jesus come split the skies." Revelation 12:11 matches the blood-and-testimony refrain, John 19:30 supplies "It is finished," Luke 24:6 the empty grave, and Revelation 22:20 the closing prayer.
