At The Mention

Gateway Worship builds "At The Mention" around a single word introduced three times before ever being named — "there is a word I love to speak, all of my hope and all my strength, takes every fear and gives me peace" — before each verse resolves the same way: "Jesus."

"There is a word that calms the storm, mending the heart that once was torn, heals every wound and ends the war" repeats the same structure with a different set of effects, and the chorus turns the word into an occasion rather than a description — "at the mention of Your name, every captive is a soul set free, every battle is a victory."

"There is a word death could not kill, broken and bruised on Calvary's hill, out of the grave it echoes still" ties the word directly to the crucifixion and resurrection rather than leaving it general, and the bridge states its claims as plain fact rather than request — "life is spoken, curses broken... death awakens, hell is shaken" — repeating "at the mention of the name of Jesus" as the cause behind both halves of each line.
