"Every weapon formed against me must break" is a close paraphrase of Isaiah 54:17 — "no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed" — one of the most-quoted verses in spoken declaration and prayer traditions. "On the doorframe of my life is the blood of Jesus Christ" retells the Passover account in Exodus 12:7 and 13, where Israelite households marked their doorframes with lamb's blood so the plague would pass over them; the song reapplies that image of protection to the cross rather than the exodus. Structurally the song is built almost entirely as proclamation rather than request — "I pray," "I proclaim," "I know" — treating spoken declaration itself as an act of faith rather than just a description of it.
