Start Over

Hope Darst speaks "Start Over" entirely as God addressing someone directly rather than as a prayer offered upward — "let it all go, let it all come to an end, we can start over again, you're not broken, there's just things I wanna mend." The reassurance is spoken in first person, not requested.

"Sometimes healing looks like nothing you would choose, feels like you're in reverse, I'm redeeming all the things you had to lose, but I know it hurts" admits that the process itself might feel like the opposite of progress, rather than promising it will always feel like improvement.

"You don't have to be afraid, I'm right here... you can cry, it's okay, I'm right here" repeats as direct, simple presence rather than an explanation of why the pain exists, and "I won't let go" closes the song holding onto the person rather than only the outcome being hoped for.
