Rez Power

Israel Houghton opens by quoting Psalm 47:1 nearly word for word — "clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph!" — a psalm written to celebrate a king's victory, repurposed here to celebrate a different kind of triumph entirely.

"Overcame the grave, to save humanity... Jesus is alive" turns the celebration toward the resurrection specifically, and the bridge's repeated claim, "I'm alive in You, resurrection power," reaches for Romans 6:4's promise that believers who share Christ's death also "walk in newness of life" by the same power that raised him. The song doesn't separate Christ's resurrection from the singer's own — the same word, "alive," gets applied to both in the same breath.
