Show Up

John P. Kee doesn't open with comfort so much as a direct offer: "if there be anyone who's going through, we have an answer to the problem for you." That's an unusually plain way to start a gospel song — less a mood-setting verse than an announcement of what the rest of the track is for.

The claim it keeps returning to is borrowed almost word for word from the Torah's own description of God: "God is not a man that He'll tell you a lie. If He tells you so, on Him you can rely." Repeating that line three times in a row isn't padding — it's the whole argument of the song, restated until it settles. If God's word can't be a lie, then a promise from Him is categorically different from a human promise that might fall through.

What makes the repeated title work is what it doesn't promise: not that a sign will appear, not that the wait will be short, only that "He'll show up on time." That's a narrower, more durable claim than "everything will be fine soon" — it's built to survive the actual waiting, which is why the song spends its second half just repeating "show up" until the words themselves start to feel like an answer.
