No Longer Slaves

A melody does the work of deliverance here: the singer is "unraveled" and surrounded by a song until fear loses its grip. The chorus turns that release into a declaration of identity — no longer a slave to fear, but a child of God — and the verses trace that identity back before birth, to being chosen in the mother's womb and born again into a family where love has already spoken the name. The second half widens the frame from one voice to many: arms of the Father, songs of deliverance, a people liberated from bondage, sons and daughters singing their freedom together. The Exodus image of the parted sea arrives near the end, and the waters that once threatened become the place where fear is drowned in perfect love. The song stays simple and repetitive on purpose, letting the same line return until it settles into the bones. It is less an argument than a testimony repeated until believed — a claim staked on belonging rather than on circumstance, and a reminder that the opposite of slavery is not independence but adoption.
