Rabbit and The Bear

Josh Garrels turns the escape from a trap into a wide-open parable of rescue. The opening sprint across fields and grass carries the relief of creatures finally free — rabbits, bears, sparrows, all summoned because the hunter is gone. That flight becomes a pilgrimage: crawling under the wire, threading the darkest wood, climbing toward a mountain of fire where everything is free in the light of the sun and every creature sings that the Lord rescued them all. The second half pivots to warning. The snake lies and takes hope and faith away, so the listener is told not to listen. Then a counter-image appears: the lion with claw and crown, and the instruction is simply to follow his every move. The song holds rescue and vigilance together, pairing the joy of deliverance with the daily need to keep trusting the one who broke the trap. Its folk cadence and childlike animal cast make the stakes feel both gentle and urgent, ending not on a sigh of relief but on the command to follow the lion.
