[Chorus:]
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh , oh
And you got it, you got it
You got it for me
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And you got it, you got it
For everybody
Your love is
[Verse 1]
Marked it down the street
Turned to sender
Usually I'm real quick to trash what I don't like
And won't look twice
When it comes to love it's no different
Hurt me once and it could be ending
No more tries, I'll say goodbye
[Chorus]
But you're not like me
You see past me
And constantly forgive
Again, again, and again
[Chorus:]
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh , oh
And you got it, you got it
You got it for me
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And you got it, you got it
For everybody
Your love is
[Verse 2]
How can someone owns the planet
Everything in it and around it
Want my heart, with all its scars
Full of stains and sometimes like garbage
Fit to be torn up and discarded
How could I, stand in your sights
[Chorus]
But you're not like me
You see past me
And constantly forgive
Again, again, and again
[Chorus:]
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh , oh
And you got it, you got it
You got it for me
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And you got it, you got it
For everybody
Your love is
[Verse 3]
Patient and faithful
It's unconditional
It's unconditional
More than any love I've known
I'm grateful, so thankful
This is incredible
Where would I be without your love
[Chorus:]
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh , oh
And you got it, you got it
You got it for me
Your love is, blind
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And you got it, you got it
For everybody
Your love is
[Verse 4]
Oh, yes you do!
Blind
Song Meaning
Mary Mary aims "Blind" at someone specific rather than describing love in general — "how can someone owns the planet, everything in it and around it, want my heart, with all its scars, full of stains and sometimes like garbage." The imbalance is the point: the one being addressed has everything already and still wants something the singer considers worthless.
"Usually I'm real quick to trash what I don't like, and won't look twice, when it comes to love it's no different, hurt me once and it could be ending" contrasts the singer's own conditional standard against what comes next — "but you're not like me, you see past me, and constantly forgive, again, again, and again." The repetition of "again" does the work of showing a pattern rather than a single act of mercy.
"Patient and faithful, it's unconditional... where would I be without your love" closes the song on the same question underneath the title's claim — not why the love is blind, but why it exists at all toward someone who, by the song's own account, hasn't earned it.
