He Said

A testimony about answered calls is the first verse of Mary Mary's "He Said." They tell listeners that "whatever you need for him to do, he will do it if you give him the chance," and add "I am telling he's already proved that he can do anything." The singers recall that "so many times I called on him, regardless of the circumstance, he was there," a line close to Psalm 46:1.

The singer's response is complete: "so now I devoted my life to serving him, it's me for him 'cause all the time he was there for me." The bridge then gives God's own words, "it doesn't matter what the need, no there's no limit, I'll give you anything, all I want is you to trust me, through my love I'll set you free."

The chorus is the singer's answer to those words, "He said I'll go wherever you want me to go, he said I'll do whatever you want me to do," which is the stance of Isaiah 6:8. The second verse says, "it is a must I testify and let everybody know... I live because of you," the testimony Acts 1:8 describes, and a rap section names Christ as the blessing behind the "new whips, new cribs."
