IDINMA (You Are Good)

Built almost entirely on a single Igbo word, "Idinma" — meaning it is good — this is a song of uncomplicated adoration. The verses barely move beyond four short declarations: good, kind, faithful, and a repeated resolve to praise His name. Everything else is breath and vowel, long stretches of "ahhh" and "ehhh" that function less as filler than as the sound of a congregation settling into worship. The word Idinma returns again and again like a refrain the singer cannot leave alone, and the English lines circle back to the same three attributes each time. There is no narrative here, no petition, no plea for rescue — the song simply names what God is and answers its own naming with praise. The repetition is deliberate: each pass through "You are Good / You are Kind / You are Faithful" lands the same way, letting the confession wear a groove. What stays with you is the economy of it, a handful of words sung until they stop being statements and become an atmosphere, the kind of chorus that works as well in a small room as it would in a hall.
