God's Not Done With You

Tauren Wells' “God's Not Done With You” speaks to someone who feels finished. The first verse describes standing in ruins that feel like the end, someone “so used to losing you're afraid to try again,” who sees only ashes “where there was a flame.” The pre-chorus gives a reply, “Truth is that you're not forgotten, 'cause grace knows your name.”

The chorus lists conditions that do not change the message: “Even with your broken heart and your wounds and your scars, even when you're lost and it's hard and you've fallen apart, it's not over, it's only begun.” It adds, “So don't hide, don't run, 'cause God's not done with you.” The second verse says, “There's a light you don't notice until you're standing in the dark, and there's a strength that's growing inside your shattered heart.” The bridge ends on the idea of a plan: “He's gonna finish what He started. God's not done writing your story.”

God finishing what he began is Philippians 1:6. Being called by name is Isaiah 43:1, and all things working together is Romans 8:28.
