No One Like The Lord / What A Beautiful Name

Song Meaning

Resurrection is declared in short, direct lines: “Death could not hold You,” “The veil tore before You,” and the grave’s “boast of sin” is silenced because Jesus is “raised to life again.” The torn veil points to Matthew 27:51, and the heavens are pictured “roaring” with the praise of His glory.

The second block shifts from event to rank: “You have no rival / You have no equal / Now and forever God You reign.” Kingdom, glory and “the Name above all names” are claimed in turn, echoing Philippians 2:9. The phrase “There is no one like the Lord” opens the lyric and returns after the closing refrain.

The final section moves into the imagery of Revelation 5. “Worthy is the Lamb / Who was slain and seated on the throne” is paired with elders and creatures bowing, “Giving praise to Him and Him alone,” and Housefires writes that block out twice. Death’s defeat, a theme of 1 Corinthians 15:55, runs under the whole lyric. As posted here, the text contains only the “No One Like the Lord” material, not the lines of the second song in the title.

[Intro]
There is no one like the Lord

[Verse 1]
Death could not hold You
The veil tore before You
You silence the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring
The praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again

[Chorus]
And you have no rival
You have no equal
Now and forever God You reign
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name above all names

[Verse 2]
And death could not hold You
The veil tore before You
You silence the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring
The praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again

[Chorus]
And you have no rival
You have no equal
Now and forever God You reign
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name above all names

[Bridge]
Worthy is the Lamb
Who was slain and seated on the throne
There is no one like the Lord
And the elders, creatures bow
Giving praise to Him and Him alone
There is no one like the Lord

[Bridge]
Worthy is the Lamb
Who was slain and seated on the throne
There is no one like the Lord
And the elders, creatures bow
Giving praise to Him and Him alone
There is no one like the Lord
