God With Us

Jeremy Camp keeps the nativity's paradox in view rather than only its joy in "God With Us" — "you laid down your crown and became as dust, Emmanuel, God with us." Majesty and dust sit in the same line without one softening the other.

"Hallelujah the angels sang to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay" keeps the audience specific — not kings or priests, but poor shepherds working a night shift — and "we give you our hearts as an offering" answers the scale of that descent with the only gift actually available in return.

"Oh come all ye faithful our God is here, joyful triumphant salvation's near, oh come and behold our King" borrows the old carol's own invitation directly, closing the song on the same repeated title claim — not a distant God who sent help, but Emmanuel, God specifically with us.
