The Answer

Jeremy Camp opens "The Answer" by naming the problem before naming the solution — "so many questions, the world is reaching, so many hurting, so many lost." Only after that pile-up of need does the chorus commit to its claim: "I know the answer to every question... Jesus, He is the answer." It's a bold thing to say about a world this specific and this broken, and the song knows it.

What earns that boldness is the second verse, which refuses to skip past the hard part: "He sees our sadness, He feels our sorrow... great is our sin but greater the cross." The strength on offer isn't distant or theoretical — "in our weakness, He is strong" — it's located specifically at the place where human failure is worst.

The bridge widens the address to "every heart that's breaking... every sickness" before circling back to the one line the whole song is built to deliver: "you are my hope and the rock on which I stand." By the end, "the answer" has stopped being an abstract theological claim and become a name spoken directly, twice, to close the song.
