This Too Shall Pass

Jeremy Camp lists specific exhaustions rather than a general sadness in "This Too Shall Pass" — "when you've cried out all your tears and you still don't feel alive, when you've held to something dear and it's gone before your eyes." Each line names a distinct kind of loss instead of one broad description of grief.

"I know your fettered heart is tethered to your brokenness, but all your weathered scars is where redemption begins" reframes the scars themselves as the actual location of redemption, not an obstacle redemption has to work around. "Hold on through the morning" keeps the timeframe realistic — not instant relief, but relief that arrives by morning.

"He'll wipe away the tears, restore the broken years, no reason you should fear" quotes Revelation's promise directly, and "his love is the only thing that lasts" closes the song by naming the one constant underneath the repeated promise that everything else — the pain included — is temporary.
