Nothing Else I Need

Jeremy Camp's “Nothing Else I Need” is a song of satisfaction in God. The first verse thinks back over everything the singer has seen and says that nothing compares to what God gives. To drink of what he brings is to have thirst quenched, so he can live.

The refrain is a confession: “I am satisfied by what tenderness You've shown to me, and I empty all that I am, and You fill my life. You're everything to me. There's nothing else I need anymore.” The second verse recalls tasting and knowing that a fire birthed inside him will only grow. It says he sought all that the world tried to offer, and that search led him to God's feet. Once there, he lays down all his needs and trusts God to make them new, so that God may become his only desire. The repeated line, “There's nothing else I need,” returns at the close as a quiet vow. Camp has often written about faith through loss, and the song reflects that history by choosing contentment over striving. The mid-tempo arrangement gives space for a congregation to reflect. It suits times of consecration or altar calls, and it will speak to anyone who has chased things that did not satisfy and wants a way to say that God is enough.
