Let It Go

Newsboys address someone stuck mid-injury rather than someone already healed: "you are waiting on a beach for a healing word to come, maybe an apology in a bottle." The wait itself is the problem the song sits inside.

"Will you forgive? Will you forget? Will you live what you know?" repeats as a genuine question, not a scolding one, and "this bitterness you hide, it seeps into your soul, and it steals your joy 'til it's all you know" names exactly what holding on actually costs.

The turn comes by pointing at someone else's example rather than issuing another command: "beneath the cross, you hear His words, 'Father, forgive them,' and you know you can't understand it." Jesus' own prayer for the people crucifying him becomes the song's final argument — not a formula for how forgiveness works, just proof that it's been done before, under worse circumstances.
