Song Meaning
Armor and sword set the scene from the first line, "Put on the armor you've got the sword." A warning follows: darkness is "pushing in," sin gets called fashion, and the Evil One "gives you the world but you burn in hell." Against that, the verse offers the assurance that "the power of God always wins the war."
The chorus is a command with a reason attached: "Never surrender, never say die," because "Jesus won the battle for you and I." The second verse swings from defense to boldness, urging listeners to "stand up for the name of Jesus," not to be ashamed, and to expect a change "in the air" along with His return. A short bridge adds that He gives strength because "He cares for you," and a lead guitar break is marked before the final chorus repeats.
Ephesians 6:11 supplies the armor, Romans 1:16 the refusal to be ashamed, and 1 Corinthians 15:57 the victory given through Jesus.

Put on the armor you've got the sword
Prepare to fight for you've got the final word
The power of darkness is pushing in
They call it fashion but it's known as sin
The Evil One knows all too well
Gives you the world but you burn in hell
The Lord is with you for ever more
The power of God always wins the war
[Bridge]
He can give the power to make it through
He gives us the strength, He cares for you
[Chorus x2]
Never surrender, never say die, never, never
Jesus won the battle for you and I
Never surrender never say die, never, never
Jesus won the battle for you and I
You've got the power don't be ashamed
You gotta stand up for the name of Jesus
Can't be defeated he's breaking through
The power of God is coming down on you
A change is coming. it's in the air
Stand up and shout He's coming back again
We've got the fire it's in our hearts
The hand of God will show you the way
[Repeat Bridge]
[Repeat Chorus]
[lead guitar break]
