Lamb Of God

Neyi Zimu's "Lamb of God" pairs two titles that don't obviously belong together — "Lamb," the image of a sacrifice, and "sitteth at the right hand of the Father," a position of completed authority. The song doesn't explain the connection; it simply states both back to back, verse after verse, trusting the listener to hold the sacrifice and the enthronement together. The second half shifts from declaring who God is to describing what he does — "he is good and his mercy abound" — moving the song from title to character. By the closing verses, the repeated command "worship the Lord" functions as the direct response the earlier verses were building toward: once the Lamb who died is recognized as also seated in authority, the only remaining move is worship. The song's brevity is part of its method — each phrase is short enough to be sung by a full congregation without needing to read along, which matters for a song built entirely on repetition rather than narrative. There's no bridge that resolves a tension or introduces new information; the tension between sacrifice and enthronement is the whole point, held in place by nothing more than saying both, together, again and again.
