Child Of Love

We The Kingdom's “Child Of Love” is a testimony that moves from a lost road to a shouted identity. The first verse has the singer “walking the wayside, lost on a lonely road,” chasing “the high life” to satisfy his soul, with lies that left him “crying like the rain.” The turn is short and vivid: “Then I saw lightning from Heaven, and I've never been the same.”

The chorus announces the change without hedging. “I'm gonna climb a mountain, I'm gonna shout about it, I am a child of love.” He has found “a world of freedom” and “a friend in Jesus.” The second verse acknowledges that the trouble did not disappear: “I've felt the sting of the fire, but I saw You in the flames,” and “just when I thought it was over, You broke me out of the grave.” The ending leans on belonging, with “I belong to You” followed by the start of a line, “Nothing can separate.”

The unfinished last line echoes Romans 8:38-39, nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ. Seeing God in the flames matches Isaiah 43:2, and being called a child of love reflects 1 John 3:1.
